The Minack is looking for one or more Assistant Directors to work with us on the following projects:
- Giants: weekly from mid January, performances 9th-20th April 2023
A riotous tale for young children packed full of songs and fun
- Calvino Nights: mid May to end of June 2023
The wild possibility of fire, feast and fun-filled fiasco! created by Mike Shepherd
- Tom's Midnight Garden: 31st July to 1st September 2023
A strange and haunting midnight adventure for children and families
There are additional opportunities within our participatory programme, particularly throughout July.
We are looking for people with professional performing arts training or directing experience. Assistant Directors will be on a paid freelance contract and we will also pay travel costs, but cannot provide accommodation so this role is really only suitable for those within commuting distance of the Minack. We are seeking to meet theatre practitioners from all art forms, who are interested in joining our bank of freelancers to support our education programmes. We are particularly interested in practitioners who have:-
- Experience of working with young people with SEN
- Experience of working with young people who have adverse childhood experiences or trauma
- Who have received YMHFA training
Employment is per project and will include evenings and weekends.
