Community Engagement
Local groups supported by the Minack
As well as all of the youth engagement work the Minack Theatre Trust CIO offers for free on site and in schools, the charity also supports a number of outreach groups in the West Penwith community that provide valuable support and resources to local young people.
Minack Adventurers at The Centre
The Centre is a community space situated in the centre of Newlyn.
Minack Adventurers is a free weekly creative arts group where children and young people can learn about all areas of the arts, find out about artists, meet and interview local artists and prepare a final piece of work that will be exhibited or showcased to an invited audience.
This project aims to support all attendees to access a regular group, building confidence and creativity.
Minack Adventurers at Trelya
Trelya is an award-winning charity working to improve mental health, well-being and enable positive change in West Cornwall's most under resourced communities.
Minack Adventurers sessions focus on dance, movement and storytelling with a student focused approach. Developing confidence, independence and a sense of belonging.
Young people also receive opportunities to watch Minack productions and visit the theatre to learn about it's history.
Minack Adventurers Crabwalkers
The Crabwalkers is a group of young people who have experienced trauma, adversity or loss. This group helps to support young people identified by practitioners as requiring additional support.
Crabwalkers is a gentle creative arts session led by specialist practitioners who have training and experience in Mental Health First Aid and includes strategies to support young people who have experienced trauma in their lives.
