Three Spires Singers Summer Concert

Truro Cathedral 6th Jul 2024 7:30pm

James Anderson-Besant conducts Three Spires Singers in performances of four 20th Century works.

Two perhaps lesser known pieces are by Sir Hubert Parry (famous for Jerusalem and I Was Glad) and by Sir Ralph Vaughan-Williams (A Sea Symphony etc). Also in the programme are two popular works well known for their memorable and achingly beautiful tunes. Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms is full of energy and passion and his setting of Psalm 23 at its heart presents a fascinating contrast with John Rutter’s treatment of the same text as part of his Requiem.
