The Minack stage with juliet balcony and arches

Finance & Governance

Since 1976, the Minack has been run by the charity, The Minack Theatre Trust CIO, dedicated to ensuring care of the property for future generations to enjoy and delivery of our charitable aims.

It hasn’t lost its connection with Rowena Cade, however.  The trustees include members of her family who are deeply committed to their remarkable heritage.

A charity, a theatre, a visitor attraction and education hub, the Minack operates a complex business model delivered by the teams and the Director who ultimately reports to the Trustees of The Minack Theatre Trust CIO.

The Minack Stage

The Minack Theatre Trust CIO receives no external funding. That means that all of the work through our Taking Part programme and the repair and upkeep of the site is paid for directly out of the income we make from visitors and audiences.

With a site that is nearly 100 years old and one that battles the elements of the coastline on a daily basis, the preservation of buildings and structures is an integral part of our work each winter.

There are a number of ways that you can help support the Minack whether it is through visiting us, coming to watch a performance, becoming a member or signing up to a donation or legacy.

Every single penny goes back into preserving the site for future generations, supporting the local economy through jobs, suppliers or specialist contractors and our Taking Part programme offering creative opportunities for free to young local people.
