A happy widow. A lovesick boatswain. A plot to foil a fake burglary and so win her heart. What could possibly go wrong?
This tale of love and mischief by the sea is for farce lovers of all ages. Written by suffragette Ethyl Smyth, it combines folk music and opera in a night of enchanting music and impish plotting and scheming by an early pioneer of the feminist movement.
Tête à Tête is delighted to bring opera back to the Minack stage after its magical production of The Firework Maker’s Daughter in 2022. Coming hot on the heels of the Cornish tour of Fault Lines with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in March 2024. Enchanting music and playful skulduggery against the magical backdrop of the cliffs and sea, the perfect late summer evening.
