"Once in a while, an artist comes along that completely stops me in my tracks. Annie Baylis is a perfect example of this.” John McCusker
With roots in traditional Celtic folk, Annie’s original songs are a passionate fusion of raw emotion, intricate storytelling, and a sharp critique of modern society; stories built on tales of rebellion, resilience, and what it truly means to be human in 2025.
Award-winning singer-songwriter Annie Baylis leads a uniquely powerful collaboration, bringing together a band made up of Alan Pengelly, Lukas Drinkwater, and John Gray.
Annie Baylis won the International Pan Celtic Song Contest in 2023.
Annie Baylis is truly authentic and that resonates deeply, blending the personal with the political. Annie’s evocative lyrics and dynamic instrumentation, call into question the status quo, challenging listeners to confront the struggles of today while offering hope in the form of timeless stories.
Annie has recently composed an EP of songs in the Cornish Language, covering political, socioeconomic and philosophical topics, including: general strike, saving the NHS & Cornish and broader Celtic connections to culture.
Having toured a live set nationally and internationally, with concerts at International Pan Celtic Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival and Lorient International Celtic Festival; 2025 sees the recording and release of her debut album.
Supported by local celtic group Ropey Folk.
