Founded in 1972 by the Hungarian violinist Sándor Végh and Hilary Tunstall-Behrens, IMS Prussia Cove has established a reputation as one of the most respected institutions in classical music and continues to flourish under the artistic direction of renowned cellist Steven Isserlis. Our alumni include international soloists, leaders of the world’s great orchestras and renowned chamber musicians, many of whom consider their time at IMS Prussia Cove a major influence on their musical development.

After 50 years the organisation continues to deliver ambitious artistic work, enriching cultural life in the UK and beyond. Every year a group of musicians taught by Sándor Végh come together to rehearse and perform in his memory.
