Penzance Orchestral Society begin their new season under conductor Tim Boulton and leader Emma Stansfield.
This autumn concert features the popular classics of Smetana’s Vltava and Vaughan Williams’s The Lark Ascending, with violinist Preston Yeo as soloist, a new setting of Handel’s Royal Fireworks Music by retiring conductor/composer Judith Bailey, and two more contemporary works: Graham Fitkin’s ‘Metal’ and Andrew Wilson’s ‘Earth Signs’ - a response to The Lark Ascending – in which Preston Yeo again takes the soloist’s part.
