A Squashbox Theatre and Minack Theatre production
Calling Explorers of all ages!
Do you love amazing songs and music?
Do you love ridiculous puppets and silly slapstick?
Do you love learning fantastic facts about our incredible universe?
Then this is the show for you!
If you’ve visited the Minack before, you may have seen one of Squashbox Theatre’s marvellous shows. Each one is full of puppetry, storytelling and comedy - but also feature clever, catchy, toe-tapping songs about animals, nature, science and the amazing world around us.
Now Craig Johnson of Squashbox Theatre has teamed up with musicians extraordinaire Ben Sutcliffe and Zaid Al-Rikabi (The People’s String Foundation) to bring you Songs for Explorers!
A fun-packed show for children and adults of all ages, featuring fabulous music from three incredible musicians – who also happen to be very silly people!
Marvel at their virtuosity on accordion, violin, guitar, trombone, harmonica, ukulele, double bass, mandolin and percussion! Gasp and giggle at songs about bees, trees, animals, evolution, rocks, mermaids, Greek Gods, famous scientists, planets and stars! Swoon at the sight of grown men in silly wigs hitting each other with lace hankies!
And – as if that is not enough – prepare to meet some of the crazy characters and puppets from your favourite Squashbox shows, such as Brian the Mind-Reading Pig, Sidney Smith the Singing Scientist, Pythagoras the Ancient Greek philosopher and Morwenna the ‘beautiful’ Mermaid.
So put on your explorer’s hat and join Squashbox Theatre and The People’s String Foundation as they take you on an awesome musical journey through the universe.
Music! Puppets! Comedy! Facts! This show has everything… and more!
Perfect for families.
